Catching up

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I last blogged... I have plenty of excuses- too busy (those candies aren't going to crush themselves, you know...), too tired, too stressed, blah, blah, blah...

Anyway, I'm back, so let's get to it...The last couple of weeks have included...

A trip to,the zoo:

 

 

 

 

E loves this little zoo, and the two times we've gone there, we end up spending hours (I actually ended up looking up on my iPhone when closing time was so I could know when I could get her out of there!)

 

Another day, we went to a really cool pond and spray park:

 

 

E has been going to summer camp at the Y, and seems to like it. One day, she inexplicably decided to go dressed like this:

They are outside most of the day, and also she did a project with glue, so her new sneakers came home looking like this:

We've been enjoying the pool at out apartment complex, one of the things I love about living here! Paden was over after camp on Friday, so the kids got in some swim time:

Yesterday we went over to my friend A's house, where E (reluctantly) got her hair done by A, and got to play with A's son and niece.

Hard to believe, but E will start 1st grade (!!!!!!!) in less than 2 weeks! This summer is flying by, like they all seem to now...I still have not gotten any of E's school supplies, yikes!

Fun weekend

On Saturday, we met up with some of E's friends from Kindergarten, as well as her teacher for a little reunion. So fun! We watched Smurfs 2 at the movie theater...

 

Then went to a park for some play time...

E loved getting to see her Kindergarten buddies and teacher, and so did I:)

On a side note, I did find out last week who her 1st grade teacher will be. I don't know her, but am hearing great things about her, which is very reassuring. Still can't believe my baby will be a first grader...that just sounds so much older than Kindergarten, ya know...?!

 

Anyway...on Sunday, we went with Misty and Paden to the beach. It was a gorgeous day. Trying to get in all the beach days we can as summer dwindles down...

Got my baby back!!

So, Miss E came home at about 2am Sunday morning. Or rather, she came to a friend's home, about 45 minutes from me at 2am. I could have waited until later that morning to go pick her up, but I couldn't wait any longer! She had been away long enough! So I went and picked her up from Megan's house, as soon as they pulled in the driveway.:) E had been asleep, but woke up and crawled in to my arms. After lots of hugs and kisses, I put her her booster seat and headed home. We slept in a bit on Sunday, then had an awesomely relaxing day together. E showed me all of her treasures she had brought home with her from Maine, including some painted rocks, for me, Grandma, and Miss M, her kindergarten teacher:)

We hung out by the pool some, and just enjoyed a day of leisure...

 

 

 

E was also very happy to see her pets again, especially Eric the Hampster!

Since you been gone...

Things I have done while E's been away:
-worked early and late a lot
-gone out to dinner and to a grown up movie in the theater
-read in bed
-had the whole bed to myself (So how's that whole stopping co-sleeping thing going, Anne? Great! As long as we're, you know, in separate states...)
-used the bathroom without an audience
- sent cards to and Skyped with E and Maria
- cancelled our cable TV (E won't be happy about this one, but I feel strangely empowered- it really was ridiculously expensive)
-spent a leisurely weekend afternoon at Barnes & Noble
- went to the beach and read the whole time
Things I have not done while E's been away:
- bought any Pirate's Booty or Capri Suns
-watched Beauty and the Beast
-watched anything
animated
-spent any time at any playground whatsoever
- said, "Don't eat that off the floor" at any point
- said "Time to wake up", "You need to go to sleep now", "Please hurry", or "Slow down", at any point
-been tickled by or tickled anyone
-and last but not least...had anyone climb on to to my lap and snuggle with me on the sofa...
Time to come home E!!! Just two more days!!!!!
