Snuck away for a long weekend

Ahh...We are up in Maine again, at my parents' place. E and I came up Friday and go back home tomorrow. It's been awesome as always.

Yesterday, we went out on a boat to watch a regatta. Cool and overcast, but still fun.

 

E has also been having fun with the neighbors' kids and playing outside.

 

It's a long drive to get here, but incredibly worth it...

Maine recap

We just got back from spending the last five days in Maine, at my parents' place. All of my family was there, which made it extra special:)

This is my new favorite picture of E. This was at the neighbors' pool.

With my brother and SIL, watching my nephews' sailing lessons.

And of course, since we were in Maine, we had to have Lobster. Yum...

And three people celebrated birthdays- My Dad, my BIL Don, and Miss Elizabeth( who unbelievably will be 7 on the 11th).

 

And on the 4th, we went to a parade where my little fashionista wore this adorable new outfit from Grandma.

That night we had a rainstorm, and woke up on Saturday morning to no power. Luckily, my parents' wonderful neighbors with generators let us use their showers, and refrigerators and freezers! My mom had planned a party with all the neighbors at our house for that night, but with no power, she almost cancelled it. However, one of the neighbors generously offered to let her move the party to their house. We all ended up having a great time, and the kids got to use the fire crackers and sparklers they hadn't been able to use the night before when it was raining.

This morning we very reluctantly hit the road to head the five hours back home. Elizabeth was especially sad to leave. She'd had such a fun time with the family and the friends she made.

Got my baby back!!

So, Miss E came home at about 2am Sunday morning. Or rather, she came to a friend's home, about 45 minutes from me at 2am. I could have waited until later that morning to go pick her up, but I couldn't wait any longer! She had been away long enough! So I went and picked her up from Megan's house, as soon as they pulled in the driveway.:) E had been asleep, but woke up and crawled in to my arms. After lots of hugs and kisses, I put her her booster seat and headed home. We slept in a bit on Sunday, then had an awesomely relaxing day together. E showed me all of her treasures she had brought home with her from Maine, including some painted rocks, for me, Grandma, and Miss M, her kindergarten teacher:)

We hung out by the pool some, and just enjoyed a day of leisure...

 

 

 

E was also very happy to see her pets again, especially Eric the Hampster!

Miss E and I are heading back home today from Maine.  Back to work for me tomorrow (sigh...)  We've had such a great vacation, I hate to see it end.  But Kindergarten starts on Thursday, which we're both very excited about!  One of us is a little queasy and stressed about it, also....hmmm...can you guess who?   Yeah, it's not Elizabeth...

Here are a few random pictures from our weekend.  Besides going to the Blue Hill Fair, E spent a lot of time riding her bike around and just hanging out.

My Dad is recovering from having Pancreotitis and Gallbladder removal surgery.  He's pretty tired and still kind of uncomfortable.  I'm hoping he heals quickly and feels better very soon.  We love you Dad/Grandpa xoxoxox

Blue Hill Fair 2012

Greetings from Maine!  Elizabeth and I are up here at my parents' place for the long weekend.  Every Labor Day weekend the Blue Hill Fair is held here.  This was Miss E's 3rd time going, and she had a great time, for the most part.  She was happy that since she is over 42'' this year, she was able to go on many more rides than last year.  She was not happy that she couldn't go on the rides that require one to be 48'' tall, however...Next year, sweetie...:)

 

 

Summer vacation

We're still in vacation mode around here, since returning from San Diego.  I'm off of work all week, since there's no Child Care for E until she starts school next Thursday (!!!)...I'm definitely not complaining.  It is awesome having this time off to enjoy the end of summer.  (Did I just say the end of summer?  Boo hooo...it goes so fast...)  We've been hanging out a lot at home, enjoying the pool. 

Nothing says summer like having the ice cream truck come by!

We'll be going up to Maine tomorrow for the long weekend.  My parents are up at their house there for the summer.  However...last week, my Dad was rushed to the hospital with Pancreotitis.  He ended up having a gallstone removed, and then his Gallbladder.  Ugg...my poor Dad.  He's been in lots of pain :(   Fortunately, he's doing better now though and is supposed to be released from the hospital today.  I am really looking forward to seeing him, and my Mom, who has been doing a lot of driving back and forth to the hospital.  It's over an hour drive to the hospital (in Bangor) from their house.  Anyway...E and I are looking forward to going up and keeping them company for a few days :)

E and I are home now, back to the Day Care/work grind.... We had a great little vacation last week :)  I love being with my family! 
Just got some pictures from my brother that he took, so I thought I'd share them...  Don't worry, this is the last of the Maine pictures- I promise!!

Now that we're home, plans for E's birthday are going into full swing :)  My baby will be 5 on Wednesday...How is that possible????
