Pool, cook out, more pool and Maleficent

What a great weekend we had! Beautiful summer weather finally:) On Saturday, we went to a friend's cook out, where there were 8 little girls, including Elizabeth, all between the ages of 5 and 10. They played in the kiddie pool and rode around on bikes and scooters for hours. All while the grown ups got to sit around and eat, and enjoy some adult beverages. A great time was had by all.

When we got home around 8:00, I thought E would be exhausted. No. She wanted to go for a swim in our pool. The girl never stops or runs out of energy! For proof that, here is a quick little video I took that night, as we closed down the pool...

On Sunday, after a day at the pool, we went to see Maleficent in 3D. E had been begging to go see it for a couple of weeks now. I was worried that she would be terrified, and we wouldn't make it through the movie. I was wrong. She.loved.it. She's already trying to get me take her again. It was a great movie, actually. I surprised myself by really liking it. Here is Miss E waiting for the movie to start. She was so excited about the "3D" aspect, because "things jump out at you." She spent most of the movie on my lap, but loved every second of it. I kinda liked it, too. :)

I am awesome!

Wow! I am like a blogging queen lately, yes? Three months of nothing, now wildly overcompensating by posting almost every day. ANYway, just wanted to share the loveliness that was our Sunday today. The weather was muy bonito, so we spent most of it outside at the...wait for it...pool...

 

 

Even more fun when Paden came to hang out with us...and Misty bought the kids new goggles. Thank you Misty!

Summer is (not really) here!

Our pool opened this week. Unfortunately, the weather has been cool and rainy so we weren't able to take advantage of it yet. However, today is finally sunny, but only about 60 degrees out. But...if you think the cool temperatures stopped my little fish from getting in the pool this morning, you would be wrong...

 

This afternoon, we went to the playground at her school and she joined in an impromptu baseball game...

 

And tonight, we went out to dinner with Misty and Paden, then came back to the apartment. Misty and I thought the kids would just play in the back yard and sit by the pool...silly us...

Oh, They started out innocently enough...

But ended up like this...

 

 

 

I guess it goes without saying, we are ready for you, Summer!!

Memorial Day 2014

Had a great day! Started off at Misty's house, where E gave cute little Leo some love...

Then to a parade with LOTS of candy...

 

 

 

Then to a cook out at Misty's friends' house...

 

We came home afterwards hoping the pool in our apartment complex would be open, but sadly, the gate was still locked. They filled up the pool a couple of days ago, but haven't opened it yet. I can't wait until they do.

Catching up

I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I last blogged... I have plenty of excuses- too busy (those candies aren't going to crush themselves, you know...), too tired, too stressed, blah, blah, blah...

Anyway, I'm back, so let's get to it...The last couple of weeks have included...

A trip to,the zoo:

 

 

 

 

E loves this little zoo, and the two times we've gone there, we end up spending hours (I actually ended up looking up on my iPhone when closing time was so I could know when I could get her out of there!)

 

Another day, we went to a really cool pond and spray park:

 

 

E has been going to summer camp at the Y, and seems to like it. One day, she inexplicably decided to go dressed like this:

They are outside most of the day, and also she did a project with glue, so her new sneakers came home looking like this:

We've been enjoying the pool at out apartment complex, one of the things I love about living here! Paden was over after camp on Friday, so the kids got in some swim time:

Yesterday we went over to my friend A's house, where E (reluctantly) got her hair done by A, and got to play with A's son and niece.

Hard to believe, but E will start 1st grade (!!!!!!!) in less than 2 weeks! This summer is flying by, like they all seem to now...I still have not gotten any of E's school supplies, yikes!

The pool is open!

It's been almost 90 here all weekend, and we've been spending most of our time down at the pool... We are big fans of summer here in our little household:)

 

 

 

 

 

 

One thing I've noticed is how much bigger Elizabeth is, and how much older she looks this year. She will be 6 next month! Yikes, how did that happen???
