Pool, cook out, more pool and Maleficent

What a great weekend we had! Beautiful summer weather finally:) On Saturday, we went to a friend's cook out, where there were 8 little girls, including Elizabeth, all between the ages of 5 and 10. They played in the kiddie pool and rode around on bikes and scooters for hours. All while the grown ups got to sit around and eat, and enjoy some adult beverages. A great time was had by all.

When we got home around 8:00, I thought E would be exhausted. No. She wanted to go for a swim in our pool. The girl never stops or runs out of energy! For proof that, here is a quick little video I took that night, as we closed down the pool...

On Sunday, after a day at the pool, we went to see Maleficent in 3D. E had been begging to go see it for a couple of weeks now. I was worried that she would be terrified, and we wouldn't make it through the movie. I was wrong. She.loved.it. She's already trying to get me take her again. It was a great movie, actually. I surprised myself by really liking it. Here is Miss E waiting for the movie to start. She was so excited about the "3D" aspect, because "things jump out at you." She spent most of the movie on my lap, but loved every second of it. I kinda liked it, too. :)

Memorial Day concert (and yes, I cried)

Yesterday, Miss E's school had a Memorial Day concert. The Kindergarteners sang two songs: God Bless America (which really surprised me, actually), and a song I didn't know, "Remember" ( a sweet song about remembering the soldiers). Of course I teared up...and my mom did, too :)

All she wants for Christmas (video!)

She's more interested in grooving to the music in the background than making a video...:)

PS: Shhhh! Don't tell E, but...she is getting the Barbie guitar (from Grandma!) and the car with remote cotrol...she is not getting a DS player...She's also not getting an iPhone (which she keeps asking for, and I'm surpised she didn't mention in this video)...

Holiday Show

This morning was Elizabeth's school's Holiday Show (our first one!)...I had an adorable Christmas dress for E to wear, but she refused (sigh...).  Oh well, she still looks pretty cute to me :) The Kindergartners sang "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". They did great!! Yes, this Mommy teared up. And so did Grandma...:)

This you tube video has been making the rounds on the adoption blogs. It is classic, and spot on. It was made by three adoptive moms. I have to say, I don't get questions or comments too very often when I'm out with Elizabeth but it does happen. Overall, I've been asked about 90% of the questions heard on this video. My favorite is "How much did she cost?" Really?

Elizabeth mentioned that she was going to have a turn leading the morning "pledge of allegiance" over the loud speaker at school, so we decided to practice. Here she is...looks like she's got it down! :)

Our weekend was good here.  We had a little pool time (yay, it finally stopped raining!), and on Saturday afternoon, E's Day Care had a 40th birthday party/fundraiser.

My little fish ( with video!)

My parents' neightbor in Maine has a pool, so last weekend, Elizabeth and I took full advantage of it! I've said many times, my girl LOVES to swim!! Here are a couple pics...

She begged me to let her jump off the diving board (which she'd never done before). I was nervous about it and initially said no, but finally relented, and she did GREAT! Below is a quick clip of one of her jumps :)
