Christmas vacation recap

E had a great Christmas break. I had to work a lot of it, but Elizabeth got to spend lots of fun time with Grandma baking cookies and playing Legos with Grandpa. She also stayed with Maria a lot, and they cooked, went to the library and just had a fun time hanging out:) Thank you so much Maria, Grandma and Grandpa for watching E during the break. She was very happy not to have to go to vacation camp at the Y:)

And because of the snow storm here, school was closed yesterday and today, so she got an extra long vacay...:)

She did a great job helping me shovel out the car this morning...

And then wanted to try to go sledding, but it was very cold and windy, so we didn't last too long...

Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas Day here. E and I got up around 7 and went out to the living room to see if Santa had come. When E saw that he had, she said, "I guess I was on the good list!."
The best part though was when Grandma and Grandpa came with a huge box. The present that E has been asking for almost constantly for months...the Barbie Dream House...
It only took me 3 hours to assemble!

It's actually a very cool house. The doorbell rings, the toilet flushes, it has an elevator...Very fun! E has been having a great time playing with it over the past few days (me too!) Thank you so much Grandma and Aunt Betsy! Just wondering how many years this will be residing in my living room...?
We spent Christmas afternoon and evening at my parents' enjoying delicious food and opening more presents:) Oh, and and practicing our gymnastics, of course...
Another great Christmas on the books...xoxox

Holiday show

On Friday, E's school had their annual Holiday show. It was very sweet, and went great, except that I did a horrible job of documenting it. One very blurry picture of E walking toward the stage (so blurry it's not even worth posting), and this shaky video I took with my phone. It got cut off at about 27 seconds because I ran out of space on my phone. Nice...Oh well...it was a great show and yes, I teared up. Will there ever be one of E's shows that I don't cry at??
It was great to have my parents and Maria there, too Thanks for coming guys!!

Holiday Breakfast and play date Sunday

On Sunday, E's school had their annual holiday breakfast. E had fun playing with her friends and meeting Santa. At the last minute, she decided she wanted me in the picture with her.:)

In the afternoon, E got to help her friends who live down the street from my parents decorate their tree. We often go to my parents' on the weekends to visit and do laundry, and E always wants to visit her friends. She had decided it was essential to put on a fancy dress to in order to properly decorate the tree:)

Getting in the spirit

Elizabeth has been asking and asking when we were going to get our Christmas tree. So yesterday, before I picked her up from After School, I managed to run to Target and pick up a really cute 4' tree, and I got 30% off since it was a floor model:) I set it up with the lights on, but no decorations yet, and surprised E with it when we came home, She was so excited!! We had fun going through our box of ornaments and decorating the tree together.

As I said on Facebook, I am now officially in the Christmas spirit!! Xoxox

Festival on the Common

Yesterday, our town had it's annual holiday Festival on the Common in the town center. They have tree decorating, caroling, a petting zoo, face painting and Santa. For some reason, E and I had never been before, but this year I decided to check it out. It was very cold, but lots of fun. E was especially happy to run into some of her friends from school.

Christmas recap

Miss E and I had a great Christmas. We had a relaxing morning together at home, when E opened her presents from Santa. Later on, we went to my parents' house to celebrate the rest of the day.

We spent a little time at our friends' house who live just a few condos down from my parents'.

And finally, E got the gift she has been wanting for months...

A Barbie Guitar!! Thank you, Grandma!!!!

Early Christmas morning...

It's 7am and I'm out in the living room, drinking coffee, looking at the tree. Santa came, and I'm waiting for Miss E to wake up and come see what he brought her.

Last night at Grandma and Grandpa's...

All she wants for Christmas (video!)

She's more interested in grooving to the music in the background than making a video...:)

PS: Shhhh! Don't tell E, but...she is getting the Barbie guitar (from Grandma!) and the car with remote cotrol...she is not getting a DS player...She's also not getting an iPhone (which she keeps asking for, and I'm surpised she didn't mention in this video)...

PSS: Help!! I'm out of the top 10 on Top Mommy Blogs! Please vote for me by clicking on the brown banner above...You can do this once a day. Help this blog move back up the ranks, pretty please??!!!! Thank you!! xoxoxoxox

Holiday Show

This morning was Elizabeth's school's Holiday Show (our first one!)...I had an adorable Christmas dress for E to wear, but she refused (sigh...).  Oh well, she still looks pretty cute to me :) The Kindergartners sang "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". They did great!! Yes, this Mommy teared up. And so did Grandma...:)

The best Christmas gift, like...ever...!

Yesterday at Elizabeth's school, they had a "holiday shop" where the kids could purchase inexpensive, small gifts for their families /friends. I sent E to school with some money and was curious what she would choose to buy. This is what is what she picked...for me...

She was so excited about this gift, she insisted on giving it to me right away :)

This morning when I woke her up, the first thing she did was check my wrist to see if I was still wearing it.

Yeah, I won't be taking this bracelet off any time soon...xoxoxox

Christmas 2011 recap

We had an awesome Christmas! Santa, and my family, were very good to us, as always :) On Christmas Eve, we went to a 4pm Church service with my Mom, my brother, and my nephews. My Dad stayed home to watch the Patriots game, lol, and my sister-in-law had a bad cold, so she stayed home to rest. After Church we all went to my parents' house and had a delicious dinner. Elizabeth and I went back to our apt, and E fell asleep around 9:30. Santa showed up around midnight. He made lots of unintentional noise, fumbling around in the dark, but luckily didn't wake Miss E up...:) In the morning, I actually woke up before E did, at about 6:45 (don't ask me why), and E got up around 7:30. She was very happy and relieved to see her stocking stuffed with presents, and that Santa had remembered her. She said, "Mommy, I didn't make the naughty list!" I didn't get any pictures from this part of the day (not sure why), but we had a nice, relaxing morning at home, just the two us while I enjoyed my coffee and watching Elizabeth play with her new toys. In the afternoon, we went to my parents', where Elizabeth got her most awesome present from my mom...her first big girl bike!!!

The rest of the day was spent hanging out with the family, eating lots of delicious food, playing with new toys...

and of course, riding her beautiful new bike!!! And check out her cool, hot pink new Dora Helmet to go with it...:)
