Changes

Well, lots of changes are going to happen here soon...

1) I start my new job in 2 weeks- yay!! I cannot WAIT!!!

2) Last week, I was in a car accident. Some young guy ran a red light and we crashed. I was totally fine, just very happy Elizabeth was not in the car at the time. My car..Not so fine. It was totaled. So once I get my settlement, I'll be new car shopping. This was one %$^ of a way to get out of cleaning my messy car ;)

3) Elizabeth and I will be moving to a place of our our own on 6/1. I'm really, really looking forward to having our own home again. I've so missed that... So I'm now facing the daunting task of trying to find affordable housing in the Boston area. Oy!

Meanwhile, we have had beautiful Spring weather the past few days. Today I think it was up to 70. Here are a few pics of Miss E at the playground and at home on the back porch enjoying the sunny day :)

Long time, no blog...

Hello! I can't believe it's beem so long since I've blogged...Things here have been good. Miss Elizabeth has been having a very hard time getting to sleep at night lately so it's been later than usual by the time I've been able to get on the computer at night, and I've just felt too wiped out to write anything. Bedtime went better tonight with Elizabeth, though, so I'm hoping this phase will pass soon!!!

Some really good news is- I got a new job! I start on 4/5. My current job is fee for service, meaning I only get paid when I see clients. No benefits, either. But my new job will be salaried, with sick/vacation days and all that good stuff:) I'm SOO excited!!! And relieved...

This past Thursday, March4, was the one year anniversary of Elizabeth's adoption finalization day:)

Elizabeth and I have been going to the Y to go swimming on the weekends. She loves the pool and asks me every morning if we can go. She also loves her bathing suit with the flowers on it. I really wish I had pictures, but since it's just me with her in the pool, it's kind of impossible.

All in all, life is pretty good. We've had Spring like weather here for the last few days. I know it's just a tease, but I'll take it! It was great being able to take Elizabeth to the playground yesterday.

The other day in the car, I was being goofy, and Elizabeth said, "Don't be silly, Mommy. You're a grown up." Alrighty then...

The snow day that wasn't

All week, they've been forcasting a major snowstorm to hit our area today. Schools were closed (including Elizabeth's Day Care), emergency parking was put into effect, all before a single flake fell from the sky. So now it's Wednesday night, and we got...about 1-2 inches of wet snow which isn't even sticking on the roads. I'm not complaining. If you know me IRL or through this blog at all, you know I'm not a big fan of the cold and snow. Anyway, I went to work this morning while Elizabeth stayed home with Maria, then got to come home early and spend the afternoon with my sweet girl. She decided she wanted to wear her Mrs. Claus dress today:) That and the popsicle kind of made up for not getting to go out and play in the (nonexistent) snow she'd been promised.

PS: Please ignore the clutter in the background. Our house is a little...busy...

Two and a half, goop and Haiti

Well, Miss E is officially two and a half years old, as of Monday 1/11. Hard to believe, but there it is. She is changing so fast. She'll always be my baby though :) Yesterday, I had my first "Parent-teacher conference" at her Day Care. Since I chat with her teachers every day, there weren't any big surprises. Still, it was nice to hear that she is doing well and is happy at "school." She is the youngest one in her center, but she is keeping up. I'm so proud of her! She is continuing to work on potty training (some days are better than others, but I'm not really pushing it, just encouraging). Her vocabulary and understanding grows by the hour, it seems. Her teachers told me that she is very easy going at school, and "goes with the flow." They don't see some of the "two year old behaviors" that I get to see at home. Lucky mommy :0
These are pictures from school where she is playing with "goop". The teachers said she had a great time and stayed with it for a very long time. So that's the latest on Miss E. I've been thinking a lot about the people in Haiti. My heart just goes out to them. One of the parents at Elizabeth's Day Care had a sister in Haiti who was killed in the earthquake. So tragic. I'm also thinking about the PAPS who are waiting to adopt from Haiti, not knowing if their children are ok or not. I can't even imagine.
Sending out lots of prayers...
