First time at the dentist!

Well, today was Miss E's first time at the dentist, and she rocked it!! She was so cooperative, and mature about the whole thing, way more mature than I am about going to the dentist, lol...

And yes, being the dorky, overbearing mother that I am, I of course had to take pictures... Of course, she had to wear her "red, sparkly, Dorothy shoes"...

The dentist said her teeth look fine. And she has not one, but actually 3 loose teeth! And an adult tooth already starting to grow in! I can't believe it, she's not even 5 yet! I was so proud of my little girl today, she did great :)

Jen Hatmaker - Dear Trayvon's Mom

Jen Hatmaker - Dear Trayvon's Mom

Life in these parts

We had a good weekend here, kind of relaxing, kind of fun. It was nice not having a ton of stuff scheduled, like we often do. Here she is taking a mid day snooze on our way to swim class :) Speaking of swim class, she is doing great, and seems to love it. I figured she would, she is such a little fish. She can go the whole length of the pool with a kick board, and is starting to learn the crawl (freestyle).
On Sunday, it was cool and rainy, and we had no plans, so I decided to take her to one of those indoor gym/jumpy places. A lot of other people had the same idea, because it was packed! And the noise level...Oy....But Miss E had a great time, and loved the slides, especially.

Elizabeth still has her wiggly tooth! Looking forward to having the dentist check it out on Thursday.

As if Kindergarten registration wasn't enough...

...now Miss Elizabeth has her first loose tooth!! She has said on and off for a couple of years now that she has a "looth tooth" when she didn't, but last night, she insisted that she did, and I checked it out myself, and sure enough, one of her lower teeth is wiggly! It seems so early to me for this! I thought teeth didn't start coming out until 6 or 7 years?? Anyway, it's funny this happened when it did, because I had just earlier in the day made a Dentist appointment for her for next week. It will be her first time at the Dentist. I know, I know, it's a little late...She probably should have started going a year ago. Here's the thing...I hate going to the Dentist more than just about anything in the world. I hate the pain, I hate the lectures about flossing, and I hate that I always seem to have to have extra procedures done that my insurance doesn't fully cover, and that cost a lot of money. But yesterday morning, I put on my big-girl pants and finally scheduled dentist appointments for both of us.
My little girl is not so little anymore. In fact, she is growing up way too fast for me...it's exciting and a little heart breaking at the same time :)

Wizard of Oz

One thing E and I did this weekend that I didn't get any pictures of was go see a high school production of The Wizard of Oz. Since this is Elizabeth's favorite movie, I couldn't pass this opportunity up when my friend Megan offered to get us tickets. I am SO glad we went! the show was fabulous, and E sat on my lap the entire 2.5 hrs (!!!) totally mesmerized. She has seen the movie so many times, she has all the songs memorized, and was mouthing all the words along with the Play. She couldn't believe when Dorothy, the scarecrow, et al, actually walked down the aisle right past us!! So much fun to watch how in to the show she was! :) When I took her to school this morning, she immediately started telling her friends about it as soon as we walked in the door :)

Scenes from a busy, fun weekend
