My friend Heidi sent Elizabeth a new baby doll, to replace the one we lost back in March. Elizabeth is so excited to have a new baby! Thank you Heidi!
I can't believe Elizabeth is 14 months old now. She has 5 teeth, two on the top and three on the bottom. She is starting to take a few steps occasionally, which is so exciting to see. She is well on her way to becoming a walkin' girl. :) She had a full developmental evaluation last Monday (required for the adoption process) and she was on target in all areas. The Dr. was actually surprised at how social and verbal she is for her age :) That's my girl!!
I'm starting to study for the next (and last) exam I have to take. It's a little (ok, a lot) overwhelming. There is so much information to know. I'm not sure yet when I'll be taking the exam. I don't want to wait too long (I want my MFT license, already!) but I don't want to be unprepared and fail it either. So, we'll see...I've been trying to visit my friend in the hospital when I can too. She is doing a little better, she seems to recognize people and responds (nonverbally) to questions. It's hard to know how much she is really understanding, though. Her whole situation is quite difficult. In addition to her medical/physical problems, there are a lot of factors in her personal life that are making this whole thing just a big mess, to be honest.
In good news, the adoption process is going well. I'm still not sure when finalization will be, but I'm starting to maybe see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Such a cute, sweet gift for a cute, sweet girl!
I can't wait to hear that all of the paperwork and hoop-jumping is finished, and Elizabeth is finally officially yours forever! I know that day will come soon.
